Recent cultural impressions, April 2025

Jang Hoon — A Taxi Driver

What happens when a political system becomes entangled in its own brutality. Well-made and frighteningly relevant story.
God of War: Ragnarök

Sequel took much more time, but gave a lot of emotions and aesthetic pleasure. Felt like reading several books. If you are into narrative-based gaming, you shouldn't skip it.
Paolo Sorrentino — The New Pope

Much weaker than original series, it finds itself closer to the final and left very good aftertaste. In my opinion, Sorrentino found right answer on what religion as institution should do.
Dan Simmons — The Terror

A scary book I couldn't tear myself away from. I was so touched and moved. All recommendations.
Werner Herzog - Aguirre, the Wrath of God

Devil is on his way to nowhere.
