Hey!

I'm Eduard, a geospatial person looking for the right place in the world for me and my family. This is my homepage, where I mix personal and GIS-related stuff. Sometimes I want to save thoughts or describe some valuable results I got, but I'm absolutely not into the vibes of what social platforms have turned into. So this is the place.

GIS Communities

This is where two my big passions — GIS and Communities — unite.

I'm active member of QGIS Community, author of several popular public plugins, translations coordinator and events maker. I try to integrate QGIS to every suitable context I see.

In previous life, I made one of the biggest russian-speaking GIS communities based on regular offline conferences — spbgeotex, with almost 1000 people involved. There are still alive YouTube videos. I was also a member of GIS-Lab, with many published articles and 10+ organized offline community events.

Scientific research and popularization

I spent a lot of time being a scientist and still help with geospatial data in different scientific projects from time to time. Check out the Papers and Public Talks pages, where I keep all important outcomes of this work.

NextGIS Team

Now I'm head of NextGIS Southeastern European office, combining different roles, from managing education processes and working with community to research&development. I'm proud of many things NextGIS team has done — our GIS platform, dozens of QGIS plugins, including the worlds most popular one — QMS, and phenomenal MOLUSCE, geospatial data delivery services with systematic financial donations to OSM and many more.
